What to Pack for an RV Camping Trip

Whether you are heading out for your first or your hundredth camping trip, or whether you own or rent a camper, having a handy packing list is always helpful. The team at 101 RV Rentals has put together a list of things to bring on your next RV camping trip.

The Basics

Camping in an RV rental can be a lot more luxurious than tent camping (we do like the term glamping), and the basic items that you need to pack will differ a little from traditional camping.

  • Bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets, or sleeping bags)
  • Towels and face cloths
  • Flashlights or lanterns and extra batteries
  • Lawn or beach chairs
  • BBQ
  • Food and beverages
  • Drinking water and reusable bottles
  • Specialty cooking items
  • Clothing and footwear for all weather (it can get chilly in the evenings, particularly if you are spring or fall camping)
  • Personal toiletries
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
  • First aid kit

For Fun

A camping trip should be all about relaxation, good times, and your favorite outdoor activities. Here are some ideas to get you started, but clearly your personal interests will dictate what goes on this part of the list.

  • Firewood, matches or lighter
  • Games/cards
  • Beach toys
  • Kites
  • Surfboards
  • Bikes and helmets
  • Hiking shoes
  • Books
  • Camera and charger

This checklist is certainly not exhaustive, but it gives you a good starting point. You may be thinking we omitted certain items from the list. That’s because when you book a travel trailer rental from 101 RV Rentals, not only do we deliver, set up, and tear down the camper for you, we also supply basic kitchen items, a broom, some toilet paper, fresh water, and propane.

Are you ready for an amazing California adventure? 101 RV Rentals is the only camper rental company in Los Angeles that offers trailer delivery to the Santa Barbara camping beaches. We deliver trailers to the private resort Ocean Mesa and to the state parks on the beach at El Capitan, Carpinteria, Refugio, and Gaviota.
